		BIGGAR YFC WIN WEST REGIONAL TALENT SPOT FINAL 2008 After a evening filled with excitement and entertainment, Biggar YFC topped the leader board at this year's West Regional Talent Spot final, held at the Armadillo, SECC Glasgow on Saturday 15th March.

		SS&S YFC WIN WEST REGIONAL DRAMA FESTIVAL On the weekend of the 28th and 29th March, the West Regional Drama Festival was held at Centrestage Music Theatre, Kilmarnock. An enjoyable two night festival, proved to be a success with more than 150 people turning up to support the performing clubs.....

		KILMAURS YFC WIN WEST REGIONAL SENIOR SPEECHMAKING Kilmaurs pipped the others to the post, to take the winning spot at the West Regional Senior Speechmaking Competiton, held in Campbeltown on 26th January. Narrowly missing the first place position were Crossroads YFC in second place and Biggar YFC in thrid. Taking the trophy for Best Overall Individual was Allan Taylor of Biggar YFC.

		BIGGAR YFC WIN JUNIOR SPEECHMAKING WITH THE NARROWEST OF MARGINS Biggar YFC narrowly beat Mauchline at the West Junior Speechmaking Competition on Sunday 2nd December - only 1/3 point gave them first place and the Farming News Trophy with their topic entitled “A Try to Convert".

		REGIONAL QUIZ RESULTS Mauchline YFC members go on to represent the West Region at the National Final.



	NEW WEST REGIONAL COMMITTEE ELECTED On Sunday 20th April, at East Kilbride Rugby Club, the West Young Farmers held their Annual Assembly. The Assembly saw the retirement of one Committee and the creation of another. Hoping to follow in the great successes of their predecessors are: West Regional Chairman - John Owen West Regional Vice Chairman - Jenni Wilson District Representatives: Ayrshire District - Louise Miller & Annise Wilson Clyde & Central District - John MacGregor & Lynsey McDonald Dumfries & Galloway District - Annette Purdie & Mhairi Davidson Lanarkshire District - James Drife & Carol-Anne Warnock Regional Co-Options: Raymond Crerar Andrew Barrie William Boyd Margaret Baillie Diane Allan With this new Committee, you will agree that the West Region can be equally successful in their efforts of competing at National level and ensure that WEST remains the BEST!!


		AYR SHOW 2008 Ayr Show will be held Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May at Ayr Racecourse. The show will see members of the West Region competing in both the Stockjudging and Arts and Crafts compeitions over the weekend.
