International Trust

SAYFC - EXCHANGE VISITS ABROAD IN 2009 Each year the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs, with support from the International Trust offers a number of unique opportunities for young people to travel all over the world on cultural, educational exchanges and visits. These challenges provide an unrivalled opportunity to travel and to live with carefully selected families in the country of your choice. In return, the Association will be receiving in Scotland a number of exchangees and groups. All members selected will receive from the International Trust, financial assistance towards their travel costs as shown below. The International Trust will be offering limited support during 2008/09 to District Associations to encourage exchanges with similar groups oversea, normally in Europe. Small groups are to consist of full members of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs, with the visit lasting between 3 and 10 tens. Grants will be made available to successful applicants at the rate of up to £55 per member taking part dedending on the project proposed, the length of the visit, numbers involved and travel costs. Visits conducts under PEJA auspices do not normally meet the Trust’s objectives which require exchanges in the partner country with a good rural youth interface provided by an organization affiliated with the European Committee for Young Farmers & 4H. The John Fotheringham Memorial Trust

The John Fotheringham Memorial Trust was established in 1991 in memory of the late managing director of North Eastern Farmers, John Fotheringham. It awards regular scholarships to people under the age of 35 who are employed in agriculture or its ancillary industries, and who wish to further their knowledge through a short study tour in the UK or overseas. North East Farm Management Association Travel Award

The NEFMA are offering a travel award of up to £250 to assist with travel expenses associated with a study tour or exchange visit either in the UK or abroad. This offer is open to any Young Farmer from the North East of Scotland.......   more

Cameron Travel Scholorship Trust

The Trust is an Endowment Trust which was established by John B. Cameron CBE, Balbuthie Farm, Fife in 2007 to: - 1.Provide funding for agricultural students domiciled in Scotland and training in Scotland for a career in agriculture for the purpose of broadening their education and understanding of agriculture in other countries; and 2.Provide funding to assist pupils from Dollar Academy, Dollar, Clackmannanshire, to travel abroad for the purpose of broadening their education and understanding of the world.   more
