New Chainsaw Units on their way

Following changing trends and demand from industry, NPTC are in the process of developing a number of additional new units to complement the existing Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw and Related Operations.

"Re-pollarding" has been requested by the Environment Agency for the specialist work they do on previously pollarded willows on river banks. "Use of a chainsaw from MEWP" covers the type of pruning cuts undertaken in tree surgery but working from within a MEWP rather than climbing with a rope and harness. We are also developing a unit in safe use of "Pole Saws" to reflect the increased use of these machines in industry. NPTC will inform us as soon as these units are available.
