Brains of the North 2009
|
Inver Ross YFC once again, for the third year running, took the title at the North Region’s Brains of the North at the Regional elimination held in conjunction with the Regional Junior Speechmaking Competition at the Community Centre, Elgin on Saturday 5th December 2009.
Team members, Peter Williams, Stuart Grant, Craig Nicol and Ricky Marwick beat the Strichen Team of Stuart Johnston, Laura Porter, Claire Graham and Gavin Buchan convincingly 58 points to 30 in the final of the competition.
Five teams from Halkirk YFC , Inver Ross YFC , Strathbogie JAC, Strichen JAC and Keith YFC competed in the first rounds of the quiz in a pub style format to answer questions on Agriculture and Conservation, Household and Leisure, Current Affairs and Music, Sport and General Knowledge. Inver Ross YFC and Strichen JAC went on the round two (final) of the quiz.
The Region would also like to thank the Quiz Master Mrs Kathleen Matheson and SAC for once again providing the adjudicator for the event.
The top teams will be competing at the National Quiz Final to be held on the Sunday of the Competitions Weekend in Inverness at the end of February 2010.
