Although there are only slight changes to the content of the assessment the way in which the assessment is administered has seen major developments. Candidates shall no longer need to purchase the Assessment Schedule from an Assessment Centre; instead it can be downloaded from the NPTC website (www.nptc.org.uk). NPTC shall gain their fees through charging a unit registration for each unit rather than form the sale of the Schedule. A similar system is currently used for all other Certificates of Competence NPTC offer.
PA1, the Mandatory unit is no longer be assessed verbally by Assessors, instead a computer based assessment is being developed similar to that of the computer driving license.
