Young Farmers from around the Grampian area took part in the Industrial Day Course in the Baden Powell Community Hall in Turriff on Sunday 28th April.
The day included members taking part in junior, senior and club baking and craft competitions. The winner in the Junior section, taking home the Isobel McCallum Trophy was Amy Dalgarno of Turriff & District JAC, second was Hannah Lorimer from Echt YFC and Ellen Glennie from Vale of Alford JAC taking third place.
Mariah Malcolm from Turriff & District JAC took the top spot in the Senior section winning The Grampian Country Chickens Trophy, with Sally Glennie from Vale of Alford JAC second and Chloe Auchnie, Nicola Ewing and Zoe Donald from Turriff & District JAC in joint third place.
Vale of Alford JAC lifted the Benzie Miller Trophy in the Club Entry display with 92 out of a potential 100 points, Turriff & District JAC coming in second with 87 points and Udny JAC taking third prize with 83 points.
The girls enjoyed short tutorial classes giving attendees a potential edge in forthcoming competitions such as the SAYFC Grampian Rally, taking place on Saturday 8th June at Keith Show Park, Keith. The classes included; Book Folding by Jo Cowie from No Books Were Harmed, Fochabers, Halter Making by Ian Matthews, Inverurie and cup cake decorating led by North Vice Chairman, Gemma Duguid.
