Ally and his team have now completed a race in every SAYFC region to raise funds for our BIG BUILD campaign. And now all eyes are on their final leg, taking on the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May!👀

Our Chairman's Challenge

Last week, our Vice National Chair Jillian Kennedy

Last week, our Vice National Chair Jillian Kennedy & Comms Chair Wallace Currie represented SAYFC at the Rural Youth Action Network Residential in Perth.

The event provided a fantastic platform to connect with other organisations working towards empowering rural youth and giving them a voice. Delegates got the opportunity to participate in workshops and discussions, go on a farm tour and to engage with policymakers including @mairi.gougeon.msp (Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands).

🗞️NEWS: Young Farmers Centre Deemed Unsafe fo

🗞️NEWS: Young Farmers Centre Deemed Unsafe for Use

Sadly the iconic Young Farmers Centre which has been our home since it's opening in 1969 has been deemed unfit for use following recent safety inspections.

Although this news has come as a shock, our focus now is firmly on the future and building a new home for Young Farmers in Scotland. Under the banner of our 'Big Build' campaign, plans and fundraising efforts are already underway towards a new Centre which will be a base for Young Farmers in Scotland, hosting events throughout the year and acting as a hub for the SAYFC staff team. 🏠

And, with the help of @rhass1784 , preparations for an alternative place for Young Farmers activities at this year’s @royalhighlandshow have also begun, with a location set for a YF marquee which will house our Arts & Crafts, Photography and Craftsmanship entries.

If you would like to donate to our Big Build campaign there is also a link in our bio. As a thank you for donations received, a donor's board will be erected within the new centre, and all donations received over £200 will feature on the wall. Allowing supporters to write their name into the heart of Young Farmers in Scotland.
