What is the role of Respect ambassadors?

The role of a respect ambassador is to be there for members of the club, providing someoneย to turn to when they need support. The respect ambassador is also responsible for educatingย and advising the club and its membersย aroundย mental health, suicide, and drug and alcohol awareness.

Please let me know why you signed up to get involved.

I got involved because I previously served as the farm safety ambassador for my district. In this role, I had the opportunity to educate my peers about the dangers of farms and how to respond to incidentsย should they occur. I took on theย respected ambassador role to gain further experience in a role related to young farmers’ย wellbeing.

What have you gained from the role?

I have qualified as a mental health first aider, as well as gaining better skills in how to deal withย ย mental health-related situations.

Why would you encourage others to get involved?
It’s an excellent experience for members to take part in to gain knowledge and qualifications that may help them progress in the future.

What would you like to see next for Respect Ambassadors?

I would like further training opportunities to be developed to help ambassadors further deliver the support thatโ€™s needed.
