Rural Youth Europe

As part of Rural Youth Europe (RYE), we are able to provide opportunities for members to travel and connect with Young Farmers from across the continent, build lasting friendships and create memories for life. We are excited to be offering 3 RYE events for members to take advantage of this year.

Spring Study Session: Budapest- 21st April- 27th April (2 Spaces)

Much like the better known European Rally, the study session is a chance for members to meet with rural youth from across RYE. These sessions are focused on discussion and exchanging knowledge across Associations, but there will always be time to socialise and make friends. This year the theme of the session is ‘Rural Youth Work’.

European Rally: Estonia- 28th July- 4th August (4 Spaces)

The European Rally has a long history and has become a major event in the calendars of all member organisations involved throughout Europe. Past participants will agree that it is an unforgettable experience where you can learn so much from your fellow young farmers from across Europe and have a great time doing it.

Autumn Seminar: Latvia- End of October/Start of November- 1 week (2 Spaces)

The Autumn Seminar is best described as a multicultural youth exchange. The seminars are one week in length and are
hosted by a different member organisation each year. Although the seminars have a different theme each year, their central focus is on bringing young people together to discuss and share knowledge on topics that effect rural youth.

Homestays

An SAYFC homestay is totally unique and allows you to experience a different way of life. Trips last from two weeks to three months – it’s up to you to decide how long you want
to travel for and which country you want to visit. During your time away you will stay in a host’s house. Normally every couple of weeks you
will move to a new host family. The host will be similar to you and will be a member of a young farmer organization.
This is a great way to meet new people, experience how other people live and learn more
about agriculture.
Top tip! – If you decide to go on a homestay adventure bring along some small gifts from
Scotland to give to your host families to say thank you!
