15 Sep East Region Teams Compete at Stirling Auction Mart for Beef Cattle Dressing Title
Bathgate Members, Alan Lindsay and Murray Fleming, take home the top prize at East Beef Cattle Dressing
On Sunday, 14th September, members of the East Region gathered at Stirling Auction Mart for the highly anticipated Beef Cattle Dressing Competition. Six teams, representing Bathgate, Kinross JAC, Strathmore, and West Fife, went head-to-head for a coveted top-three place at the National Final. Judge Emma Hodge of Rulesmains faced a tough challenge as she assessed the high standard of competition on the day.
Each team was allocated a beast and given three hours to clip and dress it to the best possible advantage. Competitors were scored on criteria including evenness of clip, technique, and teamwork. Judge Emma Hodge praised the competitors for their strong sense of teamwork and commended the overall standard of presentation across the board.
The East Region would like to extend sincere thanks to UA Stirling for hosting the event, Murray Steel and Kyra Gemmel for their invaluable assistance, NFU Scotland and Performance Feeds for their generous support, and to Emma Hodge for her expertise in judging. Above all, thanks go to all the competitors for their hard work and dedication.
