NORTH AREA REUNION
Black Isle Showground, Muir of Ord
Arrangements are well in hand for a Reunion of all North Area Young Farmers to be held in the Black Isle Showground at Muir of Ord on Saturday 22nd May 2010 when all attending will have the opportunity of meeting up with friends and colleagues from across the years. Plans include meeting from 12 noon until 6.00pm with buffet lunch served between 1.00 and 3.00pm and a Ceilidh in the evening from 7.30 to 11.30pm.
The Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs is now over 70 years old and thousands of members have passed through the Movement with many going on to hold office in other organisations. A good number have traveled overseas on the Young Farmers Ambassadors Scheme representing Scotland in many countries and continents throughout the world. What better way then to share experiences and reminisce about times in the organization than this planned Reunion?
There will be a power point presentation of photographs during the past 7 decades as well as individual pictures in a small exhibition. Photographs are sought for inclusion and if you can provide any, please either post them to Mrs Margaret Davidson, Newton of Muiresk, Turriff, Aberdeenshire AB53 8AE (include an SAE for their return) or scan/email them to her at n17muiresk@tiscali.co.uk. Please give as much information on the photographs as possible including the date(s).
Already over 125 people have contacted Mamie Girvan and Jenny Ralston past North area Organisers, who along with a number of past Members have been busy over the past months putting the event together. A questionnaire is available by contacting: sayfcreunion2010@yahoo.co.uk which gives information on the event and will also provide feedback for the sub committee.
Tickets are now available, at £20.00, for the afternoon get together which includes the buffet meal and a complimentary drink. Andy Ross’s Band will play at the evening Ceilidh and admission for this £5.00. ANM OVERWINTERING COMPETITION 2009-10
Cattle for this competition must be purchased at any Aberdeen & Northern Mart, by the competitor in person, from 1st September to the 30th November 2009 and must be registered at the office on the day of purchase.
