East Cabaret Winners 2026- East Fife JAC

East Fife JAC have claimed top spot at the East Region Cabaret 2026 with their supermarket caper entitled “An Everyday Essential”. The club were commended for their energetic performance packed with big laughs, colourful costumes and enough fruit and veg to cover your 5 a day for a week!

Speaking after their win, scene producers Finlay and Mhairi Ross were quick to praise their cast:

“It feels absolutely overwhelming to be honest. The effort these guys put into turning up for practices, for the costumes, for the scenery. They’re so energetic. We were one of the smaller casts in the competition tonight, but their talent shone through and we couldn’t be any more proud of them.”

With 8 teams competing on the night, it was agreed by spectators and judges alike that this had been a standout year for the competition. Finlay and Mhairi admitted that the result came as a shock given the brilliant standard of performances throughout the evening:

“Well done, everybody. They were so good. We did not expect this at all. Everyone put on a really good show tonight; costumes were fantastic, ideas were great and we’re just so thrilled that we managed to win.”

Club Chair Ben Provan and Secretary Michael Stockwell thanked Mhairi and Finlay for their efforts:

“Amazing, absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have done it without Mhairi and Finlay, they’ve been a fantastic help. The commitment they’ve put into it has been unreal. We’re absolutely grateful for everyone’s efforts. There’s so much time and effort gone into it all- nights, weekends- we couldn’t have done it without this cast.”

2nd Place- Bathgate JAC

Second place by just 2 points were Bathgate JAC with their scene entitled ‘No Place Like Gnome’. Last year’s champions came out swinging and singing with their garden-based battle for top spot.

3rd Place- Peeblesshire JAC

Best Comedic Moment- Liam Irvine, Toru Keen and Ben Rainey

Third place went to Peeblesshire JAC with ‘Swamping All Over the World’. A fantastical scene that some might call ‘shrek-tacular’. The club also picked up the prize for best comedic moment for their fabulous fairy trio of Liam Irvine, Toru Keen and Ben Rainey.

Best Individual act on the night went to Kara Cameron Gall of Forfar JAC for her rendition of ‘Try Everything’ from Disney’s Zootopia.

The judges for the night were Alistair Morton, Angus Forbes and Ewan Campbell. In his final judges’ crit Alistair Morton congratulated all the performers on the quality of this year’s competition:

“We were genuinely blown away by the level of competition tonight. We all agreed that this is the highest standard Cabaret competition that we’ve ever seen!”
