SAYFC Meets Nuffield Scholars

It was an honour to be invited by Vic Ballantyne to join a Nuffield GFP group alongside past and present Scottish Nuffield Scholars to talk all things SAYFC.

Representing the Angus Tayside District, we had myself as District Chair, Secretary Jordan Barclay, Vice Chair Viki Johnston, and Past Chair Mark Ogg – all of whom also represent Angus Tayside on the East Region Committee.

The evening provided a brilliant opportunity to share with the Nuffield Scholars what SAYFC is all about – our structure from Board level right down to grassroots, the wide range of opportunities on offer, and most importantly, the impact the organisation has on young people working in Scottish agriculture.

We also reflected on our own journeys within SAYFC and how much we’ve each gained from being part of such a vibrant community.

It was a fantastic evening spent in the company of truly remarkable individuals, learning more about the Nuffield Scholarship. From its well-known global reach to the inner workings of the programme. We left inspired, with some wonderful new contacts and a growing interest in the scheme itself!

A huge thank you to Vic and the Nuffield team for the warm welcome and for giving us the opportunity to fly the SAYFC flag and celebrate everything our organisation stands for.
