🏠Fundraising Thank Yous

For this week's Thursday Thank You we had to take the chance to once again highlight the fantastic support of the @aberdeenshirerhs.

We are in awe of the hard work and dedication that the presidential team have put in throughout this year to highlight the amazing produce, places and people of the Aberdeenshire region.

As part of this, they have brought people together through a series of brilliant fundraising events – including a golf day at Meldrum House, a dinner and dance at Thainstone, and a special lunch at The Marcliffe. Each one of these events was a huge success and highlighted the astounding generosity of the region and their agricultural community.

All this culminated in a fantastic stand at the Royal Highland Show with the people and produce of the North East at it's heart. And it was there we gathered on the Friday of the show to hear the announcement that the grand sum of £290,000 would be distributed to the initiative's supported charities – @rhass1784 , @rsabi_ and our own Big Build campaign. What a total!

We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation helped push our fundraising efforts past the £1 million milestone. We are getting so close to our final goal. With plans to break ground this September, we are asking all who can to join us in this final push to fund our new home.

It's #WellbeingWednesday and, due to recent appearances of a strange bright object in the sky above Scotland, our Development and Wellbeing committee have taken the time to compile some handy tips on how to stay safe in the sun.☀️🧢🧴🚰🕶️

Many people in the agricultural sector spend long hours working outdoors, greatly increasing their exposure to harmful UV rays. A few small preventative measures can help limit that exposure and reduce the chances of sun damage, skin cancers and heat stroke.

🗞YF Crafters Hit the Slopes and the Back of the Net

Each year at the Royal Highland Show, the entries to our National Arts & Crafts competition take pride of place in the Young Farmers Stand. 2026 was another exceptional year for the competition (sponsored by @nfu_mutual), with members creating some brilliant displays for show week based on the themes of ‘Après Ski’ in the senior competition and ‘World Cup’ for the Junior teams.⛷️⚽

🗞️Scott Secures Stockman of the Year Victory🏆

Congratulations to our 2026 Stockman of the Year, Scott Anderson of Ayrshire District. 🎉

Scott lifted the coveted trophy at last Saturday's grand prize giving at the Royal Highland Show, after an exceptional performance in his final year of competition.

He was joined on the podium by Lynsey Currie in second place and Jane Lindsay in third, a fantastic showing from the two Lanarkshire members. 👏

🗞️Bute Bag Club of the Year Win🏆

Congratulations to @butejac who were crowned SAYFC's Club of the Year on the Saturday of the Royal Highland Show. The club from Clyde and Central District were recognised for their work in their local community, particularly in the formation of ‘Bute Mini Agricultural Club’ in partnership with a local nursery.

A massive well done to Bute on this fantastic achievement and to our runners up @halkirkyoungfarmers in second place and @peeblesshirejac in third. 🙌
