East Rally 2026

Bell Baxter crowned overall champions at the event, held at Easter Bucklyvie Farm, by kind permission of the Barr Family.

The Rally (sponsored by WB Grieve Contractor, J Low Agri Services Ltd MAM Contracting, Agricar & Davidsons Feeds), was a great success, with members from 115 clubs from across the East Region gathering to compete and socialise in the Fife sunshine.

There was a brilliant variety of competitions for members to get involved with on the day and it was great to see so many attendees trying their hand at multiple events across the three sections of Produce, Agri and Sports.

In the produce section, members showed off their culinary and artistic talents with a wonderful array of high-quality entries. The tables were brimming with baking, preserves and colourful refreshments. As well stacks of submissions for the photography competitions and beautifully presented Foursomes trays in the theme of ‘Apres Ski’. The centre tables were reserved for the floral art submissions where members, on the day under the pressure of a time limit and the watchful eye of the judges had to create a display which incorporated a Sports Item. This led to some wonderfully inventive entries with flowers spilling out of balls, through rackets and even climbing up golf clubs.

The Agri events began with morning Stockjudging with 1 class of sheep, 1 class of beef cattle and 2 classes of dairy cattle to judge and give reasons on. Members were then able to move through the other events on offer, these included valuation, fault finding, welding, identification, quad bike driving, changing a milk liner on a cluster and a digger challenge. All before the agri business quiz and mock auction at the beginning of the afternoon.

As the afternoon heated up, the action moved out to the field for the Sports section of the day’s competitions. Competitiors battled through a series of races including the 100m sprint, 4x100m relay, the wheelbarrow race and the Sack Race (with 4 people to a tone feed bag). There was also a Tug of War competition and novelty classes including a ‘80s’ themed fancy dress competition and a egg toss competition. The sports were rounded off with an epic Obstacle course relay, where competitors had to crawl under nets, splash through a makeshift pool and push a round bale to reach the finish line.

Many thanks to the Barr family for the use of their premises and for providing the bulk of the equipment and stock for the day. Thanks also to our event supporters, FWB Grieve Contractor, J Low Agri Services Ltd MAM Contracting, Agricar & Davidsons Feeds. And finally thanks to our judges and stewards for their hard work during the day and to the members of Fife & Kinross District who assisted in set up and clean up.
