East Cabaret 2024 was “unBEElievable”

Reigning supreme on the night and taking home the B.P Farm Service Perpetual Trophy with 84 1/3  points was Bathgate JAC with their production of “unnBEElievable” produced by Kathryn Russell and Emma Inglis.

Taking  second place was the team from East Fife JAC with their performance “Pink To Make The Tups Wink” produced by Mairi and Finlay Ross. Cruising into 3rd place with “Cruising Along” by Perthshire District which was produced by Ally Marshall.

Ally Brunton from East Fife JAC received the trophy for the Best Act out with the winning team for he reenactment of I’m Just Ken and winning the Best Comedy Moment Award was “The Grannies” Reece Brown and Hannah Graham from Perthshire District.

The opening act from Kinross JAC got the audience laughing and cheering straight away and continued on to the closing acts for the evening. Lanark YFC with their Abba tribute and audience participation and The Allana Brown Performance Team certainly put on a showstopping highland dance performance.

Tasked with the ultimate challenge of judging this year was Miss Carolann Barrie, Miss Joanne Hall and Ewan Campbell. All three judges praised the teams on their handwork and dedication to their performances and how entertaining the evening was.

Our thanks must once again go to the Perth Concert Hall staff who always go above and beyond to help our teams, raffle donators, audience, East Region district stewards for all their assistance and of course the outstanding acts which entertained. A huge thank you is also extended to East Of Scotland Farmers for supporting the event.

The dance to follow the competition was held at Ego Nightclub, Perth where approximately 300 members enjoyed a great night.

East Chair, Jillian Kennedy said on the evening: “It was brilliant to have seven teams back on the stage at the East Region Cabaret. The teams brought a fantastic show to the concert hall once again, showcasing their amazing talents through a variety of productions.”
