I started going along to Young Farmers in 2021, age 23. My first meeting with East Fife JAC was a Car Treasure Hunt, which we won! This was a big confidence boost and it was instantly obvious it is a very welcoming community of all ages and backgrounds. The variety of activities held and generosity of hosts across the syllabuses is incredible.
I don’t come from a farming background however our family haulage business works closely with the agricultural industry and it has been great to socialise with people my own age, outwith the working environment.
This year I have sat on the committee and have enjoyed being part of the team putting meetings together and learning more about behind the scenes of Young Farmers.
